The 50 miler that wasn't

Jake went on the 50 miler with the scouts.  It was a very hard experience for him.  The
winter snow had pushed many trees down ontop of the trail.  It was hard for the leaders to see the
path.  Jake was lucky that his Dad took the time off of work to be with him.

 Jake's wonderful Daddy!

 Trees that have fallen
They have found snow on top of the mountain.  They enjoyed the cool.

Trees they all had to climb over and under.  CRAZY.

FINALLY DONE!  He never appreciated a bottle of water like he did this moment.
This was an amazing experience for my son and husband to have together.  Jason took the time off of work and sacrificed to be there with his son.  Jake means so much to Jason.  He wanted to be there to protect and make sure his son was safe.  When Jake returned home he told me his Dad cried at the end.  I asked him why and Jake got teary eyed when he said, "because he was so proud of me."  Wow, what a powerful moment.  Thank you to my husband for taking the time to be there with his son.  They didn't even get to receive their 50 mile badge because the trails were so hard to climb over the trees, they didn't go the distance they needed to.  Jason said it was one of the hardest hikes he had ever been on because of all the obsticals in the way. I am very proud of my boys.  Next 50 miler Jake goes on will be easy compared to this I am sure.

scouts

Jake and Jason have been having lots of fun together in scouts this past year.

Ethan in nursery!

When Ethan was younger, he didn't have a problem going to anyone.  Since he turned nursery age...
that all changed.  He is quite a Momma's boy now.  He doesn't like to go to nursery but
does fine once we leave him.  He LOVES the bubbles.  It is his favorite part.

What a stud.

Ethan loves to climb on everything.

We always love our time at Cane Beds.  Grandpa Black helped Jaycee drive the tractor.  The kids always have a great time there.
